A subspecies which frequently hardly can be distinguished from
the typical species (taller much branched plant, with larger flowers
but longer calyx and basal leaves dilated to the base) and which
inhabits the low altitude calcareous mountains (the typical species
usually in the xeric and mesoxeric grasslands).
Galda Valley, Trascau Mountains, Alba county, on the rocks near
the verge of the roads, at the basal part of the Cailor Creek (from
where a path climbs towards Piatra Cetii calcareous
massif).
